Fried Marbles

Our newest craft is Fried/Cracked Marbles. They are really neat and were quite easy to make.

All they involved was literally frying the marbles and them putting them into ice-water to quickly change the temperature and cause the interior of the marbles to crack. None of the cracks are on the outside of the marbles, pretty cool, right?

Materials
-One bag of clear marbles (we used pink)
-Medium sized bowl with ice water
-Frying pan and stove
-Spatula

1) Turn the stove on to about medium heat, maybe a little lower.
2) Put the marbles into the pan for about 15 minutes, making sure to move the marbles around often to get them evenly heated up.
3) While the marbles are heating up, fill the bowl with water and ice
3) After about 15 minutes, take ONE marble and put it into the cold water. It should crack all throughout the interior, and if it doesn't, that means your marbles need more time on the stove.
5) If you are happy with your marble, poor all the rest of your marbles into the water. The marbles may be a little cloudy at first, but that will clear up.

And your done! Right now we just have them out in a pretty little bowl, but our next step will be making cages for the marbles so they can be used as pendants.
