Paper Branch

Hey everyone!
I did this craft recently to brighten up my room. It is another easy craft that is pretty awesome looking. And it costs just about nothing.

Materials
-Magazines or newspaper
-Hot glue
-Tape (I used scotch)
-Fake flowers

1) Cut out the branches from the magazine or newspaper. This is the hardest part, it took me a few tries to get it how I wanted it to be.
2) Hot glue a little square of newspaper or magazine to the back of each of your flowers. This is to make it easier to tape to the wall.
3) Tape the branch onto the wall.
4) Tape the flowers onto the branch where you want them.
That's it!

I had a few other ideas about the branch, maybe adding some birds or leaves as well.

Fried Marbles

Our newest craft is Fried/Cracked Marbles. They are really neat and were quite easy to make.

All they involved was literally frying the marbles and them putting them into ice-water to quickly change the temperature and cause the interior of the marbles to crack. None of the cracks are on the outside of the marbles, pretty cool, right?

Materials
-One bag of clear marbles (we used pink)
-Medium sized bowl with ice water
-Frying pan and stove
-Spatula

1) Turn the stove on to about medium heat, maybe a little lower.
2) Put the marbles into the pan for about 15 minutes, making sure to move the marbles around often to get them evenly heated up.
3) While the marbles are heating up, fill the bowl with water and ice
3) After about 15 minutes, take ONE marble and put it into the cold water. It should crack all throughout the interior, and if it doesn't, that means your marbles need more time on the stove.
5) If you are happy with your marble, poor all the rest of your marbles into the water. The marbles may be a little cloudy at first, but that will clear up.

And your done! Right now we just have them out in a pretty little bowl, but our next step will be making cages for the marbles so they can be used as pendants.

Happy October! I have a new craft that I saw on Pinterst. It is super easy and really clever; one of those crafts that make you wish that it had occurred to you because it is so simple.
It is a magnet board made out of a cookie sheet.
We had an old cookie sheet, so I didn't need to buy one, but I am sure that you could find one at a Goodwill or something like it.
I just spray painted mine, it took a few coats and turned out fairly well. My only problem was that I think that the pan had a little grease on it, and when I painted it it had a few weird spots, so make sure it's clean before you paint it.
I think that you could also put scrapbook paper on it or a pretty fabric, especially on the cookie sheets without the rim going around the edge.
To hang the magnet board I just hung it off its rim from a nail. If you use a flat cookie sheet I think the best thing to do would be to drill a whole in it or attach a ribbon to hang it from.
Enjoy!

Our very first tutorial

Hello! Today Rosalie and I went to a Goodwill and picked out about half a dozen plates and cups to make pedestals. we saw this on Martha Stewart's website and had to try it. it worked really well.  heres how it's done:

1) Find a cheap glass (we also got some mugs and vases) and a plate that matches or goes well with it at a Goodwill or another place that sells cheap stuff.

2) measured the center of the bottom of the plate and glass (to make sure that it is centered when you attach it) and make a dot.
3) Put a circle of glue on the bottom of the glass and attach the plate (doing your best to make the dots match up)
4) and your done! wasn't that easy? And now you have a beautiful serving plate/necklace holder/key/shell display/ what ever you want.
We will add a link soon to a video tutorial on Youtube too.

Heres some pics of our finished products:
